Ileana Ramirez grew up and resides in Daly City where she started creating artwork in middle and high school. She is inspired by art she sees in books, on television and in popular culture. Ileana fills her sketchbooks with ideas fully realized in colored pencils before she translates them in her chosen medium, acrylic paint on canvas. Through her work, Ileana expresses messages of gratitude, community, and positivity. Text and simple images reveal the artist's inner world and nature: sunny, warm and carefully considered. Ileana has exhibited at Incline Gallery, SOMArts, San Mateo County Fair and Art Saves Lives Gallery.
