Javier Morales was born in Nicaragua and moved to the United States in 1965 when he was 8 years old. He settled in the Bay Area and after joining ArtReach Studios in 2014, began to practice art. Javier holds a deep connection to Latinx culture. Much of his work serves as an homage to themes like Salsa Dancing, Lowriders and a romanticized California Dream. Javier's mixed media works explore collage, color mixing, line work and texture. When asked about his reason for creating art Javier states “art relaxes me, and makes me happy. I enjoy coming to the studio every day”.
