Kevin Bell wanted his work to shine with “good spirit” which he accomplished by “drawing sunshine,” as he put it. Kevin approached his work relaxed and carefree; he didn’t want to plan anything out too much. He often let the paint drip from his brush down a canvas, or his hand meander around a page finding its own path. Spontaneous moments  in acrylic, watercolor and oil pastel invoke the jazz and soul music Kevin loved to listen to while he worked. Kevin's work is a lasting expression of his joy, his tenderness and essentially, his way of being.
